Safe UIT

At the UIT, it is important to us that everyone has a good time. You meet new people with whom you can have a drink, dance, flirt and become friends or more. Super fun of course, but your safety comes first!

At the UIT, it is important to us that everyone has a good time. You meet new people with whom you have drinks, dance, flirt and become friends or more.

Everyone has different desires as well as boundaries and that's totally okay! Where one likes to kiss
with a stranger, another thinks that's going too far. Therefore, keep each other in mind a little
gaps. Do you think someone is uncomfortable or see unwanted sexual behavior?
Help the one it happens to by asking, ”Are you okay?” Also, you can use ”Are you okay?”
Checking each other's desires and boundaries when flirting or dating.

That way, together, we'll make sure everyone has a good time! How do you actually flirt? Check www.benjeoke.nl

Four tips for everyone to ensure a safe UIT!
  1. Treat others respectfully. Listen to differing diverse opinions of others and respect boundaries;
  2. Ask open (check) questions to find out from the other person if you are on the desired track;
  3. Address others about undesirable behavior (from your observation) and check that and respond maturely when you are addressed;
  4. Don't look away in an ‘akword moment,’ but take action, for example, toward the victim or the person doing the unwanted behavior.

If during the UIT you encounter or witness undesirable behavior, you can contact the external confidential advisor Karlijn Mofers. You can tell her your story and she can advise you or assist you in taking further steps. You remain anonymous and remain in charge. Undesirable behavior includes bullying, sexual harassment, discrimination, aggression and violence.

You can send Karlijn a message (text, WhatsApp or Signal) or email.

When may you contact the confidant? You are always welcome to seek advice, no matter how big or small your question or problem. Check the flow chart below to see what else you can do to address undesirable behavior.
