EVENTMANAGER
Seven event managers are active before and during the UIT. Together with the UIT board, they play an important role behind the scenes of the UIT. Event managers fulfil various functions and are ultimately responsible for their own range of tasks. Think of communication, participants, programme and collaborations.

What are the duties of an event manager?
- The event manager plays a large and important role behind the scenes of the UIT!
- You will support the UIT board in the preparation and production of the program elements.
- You will train and instruct mentors and crew members both before and during the UIT.
- During the UIT, you are ultimately responsible (site coordinator) for certain program elements.
- You have both collaborative and individual tasks that vary by position. There are a total of 8 functions, these are described further below.
What functions are there?
Before and during the UIT, seven event managers are active. Each has a function with its own tasks, in addition to which you work together as a team on certain tasks.
Some functions are held by several event managers. These are the positions Catering, External, Volunteers, Communication and Sustainability.
Festival Commissioner
As Festival Commissioner, you and the Programme Officer are mainly responsible for setting up the festival. This includes arranging the filling of the festival grounds, making scripts, contact with the municipality and contact with the crew. You will also be responsible for electricity, water, lighting and sound at the festival together with the Programme Officer.
Programme Commissioner
As Programme Commissioner, together with the Programme Officers, you are responsible for the production of the UIT programme elements. You will, for instance, deal with the decoration, scripts per location and contact with suppliers. Although the broad outlines of the programme are already fixed, you are ultimately responsible for the implementation and there is plenty of room for your own creativity!
Logistics Commissioner
As Logistics Commissioner, together with one of the Programme Officers, you will set up the whole logistics plan of before, during and after the UIT. You set up the logistics post (LP), which is the distribution centre of materials needed during the UIT. During the UIT, you will manage crew who support the LP. You will also help the Officers Programme with fencing, security, water, electricity, etc.
Catering Commissioner
As Event Manager Hospitality, together with Functionaris Programma you will be responsible for recruiting and liaising with hospitality managers, tap dispensation, purchase estimates, bar equipment and you will obtain your Social Hygiene (SVH) if you do not already have it. You will also be responsible for working out the sales and cup system.
External Commissioner
As External Commissioner, you will help our Acquisition Officer for as many collaborations as possible. In addition, you will help contact catering companies for UITeten and help with the dining table scheme (ETS). You will also offer promotional opportunities to existing and new parties. But you will also look into which funds are possible and apply for them.
Commissioner Volunteers
As Volunteer Commissioner you will work together with the Participants Functionary on the recruitment of all mentors and crew members. You will plan the interviews, training days and other activities/facilities for the volunteers.
Commissioner Communication
As Communications Commissioner, your duties in the run-up to the UIT include keeping all social media and the website up to date together with the Communications Officer. You support the recruitment and supervision of all creative volunteer positions such as radio crew, media crew and presenters. During the UIT, you will keep the social media up to date and actively work to keep the radio area running.
Commissioner Sustainability
As Sustainability Commissioner, together with the Programme Officer you will be working to make the UIT sustainable. We also participate in the Sustainable Introduction Time (DIT) and you will collect data for this during the UIT. You will also work on sustainable materials for the lunch, plan for waste and recycling and raise awareness among the participants.
What are the requirements?
As event manager, you will be present one day a week in the month of May and two days a week in June. In July and August, you will assist the UIT board full-time. In any case, you can just finish your academic year.
During the UIT you are of course also available all week and also the week after for completion.
Experience with the UIT (as participant, mentor or crew) is very useful, but not a requirement!

What do I get in return?
A summer you won’t soon forget! You are co-responsible for organizing the biggest student event in Utrecht together with the UIT board and all the volunteers. As an event manager, you will expand your network and gain experience in various fields that will look great on your resume. In addition, financial compensation is available.
It is possible to fill the event manager position as an internship. Inquire about this with the appropriate person within your program.
