The first Monday of the UIT program is all about meeting new people and exploring. The first day is always exciting, but don't worry—the kind mentors and fun activities on the schedule will put you at ease!
mentor meeting
Of course, UIT kicks off with the mentor meet-and-greet at Vredenburgplein! Here, you’ll not only meet your mentors, but also the small group you’ll be spending the entire UIT week with! Once your group is complete, you’ll walk with them toward TivoliVredenburg, where the opening show will take place! The mentors will guide you for the rest of the week—have fun!
opening show
The UIT really kicks off during the spectacular Opening Show at TivoliVredenburg! That’s when your college life truly begins! The show will explain all the ins and outs of the UIT, so you’ll know exactly what to expect this week. Together with guests from Utrecht University and Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, the hosts, and the UIT Team, we’ll kick off the UIT with you!
lunch
After the kickoff of the UIT, you and your group will have lunch at Park Paardenveld! A buffet station will be set up for you, where you can prepare your own lunch and enjoy it in the newly renovated park. It’s important that you stick to the start and end times listed below; this will help us avoid crowds.

City Introduction
Ready to explore Utrecht? After lunch, you’ll head into the city for the City Introduction. Discover Utrecht’s best hotspots, hidden gems, and coziest spots. Along the way, you’ll visit various locations, check out the markets, collect goodies, browse the UIT merchandise, and, of course, pick up your UIT bag, filled with gadgets, useful information, and—of course—discounts!
Test your knowledge of Utrecht with your group, complete the challenges, and get a chance to win a great prize!

After an afternoon full of discoveries, wrap up your city tour at Monday@thePark! In the cozy setting of Park Lepelenburg, you and your group can relax and reflect on all the highlights of the day. Enjoy live music, check out the last few market stalls, and discover some more great deals and activities.
Find a nice spot on the grass, grab an ice cream, and enjoy the atmosphere in the park. Of course, don’t miss the awards ceremony for the city orientation: maybe your group will go home with a great prize!

During the UIT Dinner, you’ll join one of the student associations or restaurants throughout Utrecht. Enjoy a delicious meal, soak up the atmosphere, and get to know the different spots Utrecht has to offer. It’s a fun way to kick off UIT week and get to know your mentor group better!
silent disco
Would you like a little preview of the opening party? Then come join the pre-party at TivoliVredenburg!
During the open house starting at 6:15 p.m., a Silent Disco will be waiting for you at Park 6, hosted by our one and only UIT DJ Julivn. In addition, the K.F. Hein Foyer also features Asmodee's life-size XXL games. So there's plenty to do!

Of course, the first day of UIT wouldn't be complete without an awesome opening party. We're going to go all out tonight at TivoliVredenburg! Starting at 8:30 p.m., we'll be dancing the night away at the main stage in Ronda with an amazing lineup, headlined by Gotu Jim. Check out the full lineup on our Instagram!
In the Pandora room, we'll be singing along as loud as we can to energetic and nostalgic tracks at 4AM. This is a party you won't want to miss!
STUDIO UIT
A beloved tradition takes on a new form. This year, the Symposium is making way for Studio UIT: a dynamic program filled with inspiring conversations, current topics, and surprising insights. Whereas we previously gathered around inspiring speakers, Studio UIT invites you to listen in, contribute your thoughts, and discover new perspectives on topics that matter to you as a student.
Studio UIT kicks off the day with the Live Podcast, hosted by the Volkskrant, who will be discussing the changes in student nightlife. Afterward, join us for the Talk Show, where we’ll tackle various topics in three rounds, including non-traditional academic paths with a special guest Maarten van Rossem!
LUNCH
There’s another delicious buffet lunch waiting for you today! You can put together your own lunch here and find a nice spot to eat in the beautiful Botanical Gardens. It’s important that you stick to the start and end times listed below; this will help us avoid crowds.

SPORTS MARKET
At the sports fair at the Olympos Sports Center, you’ll not only find Utrecht’s best sports clubs, but you’ll also get to explore the wide range of sports activities offered by the OlymPas, Olympos’ all-inclusive sports pass.
Stop by the booths, ask the members all your questions, pick up a souvenir, or join in on one of the fun activities the clubs have organized.

CLUB FAIR
The Club Fair at Park Lepelenburg is the perfect place to get to know the clubs better. Come discover which club is the best fit for you. There’s a huge selection to choose from, including social, sports, academic, cultural, international, and philosophical clubs. Stop by the booths and ask the members all your questions, pick up a freebie, or join in on one of the fun activities the clubs have organized.

ROTSOORD BY NIGHT
The evening program takes place at the former Rotsoord industrial site: an atmospheric location offering a mix of food, drinks, music, and a lively atmosphere. During Rotsoord by Night, various restaurants and bars open their doors to the UIT runners, and you can take part in a variety of activities.

Drag Music Bingo | LE:EN
Following last year's success, the popular Drag Music Bingo is back at UIT in collaboration with PANN and LE:EN! Get ready for an evening full of music, hilarious moments, and spectacular performances. The queens Haley and Frida Cumminnit are returning to the stage to shine, and they’re sure to put on an unforgettable show together with DJ Lumora.
The first round starts at 8:00 p.m. and the second round at 10:00 p.m.! Sing along, mark off your bingo card, and win great prizes. You won't want to miss this!
pub quiz | De Helling
Test your knowledge during the Pub Quiz at The Slope, organized in collaboration with SR030! Form a team and compete in two fun quiz rounds full of questions about Utrecht, music, student life, and sports. Participation is free, but please note: spots are limited! The first round starts at 8:00 p.m. and the second round at 10:00 p.m.! Will your team make it to the podium? The top three teams will take home great prizes.

You can let loose all evening at the Silent Disco! Put on your headphones, choose your favorite channel, and dance along to the best hits. Set your own vibe, dance to your favorite music, and enjoy an unforgettable party together at your own beat!
SPORTS WORKSHOPS
Still haven't had enough of all the action after the sports fair? Then join the sports workshops at Olympos Sports Center and STERK Bouldering Gym!
During the workshops at Olympos, the participating sports clubs will let you experience for yourself just how much fun their sports are. From team sports to individual challenges: there’s plenty to discover.
You can also take part in various dance workshops at Touchée Dance Company or discover what it's like to go bouldering at Boulderhal STERK.
Put on some athletic clothes, join in, and find out which sport is right for you!
MOVIE MORNING
After an active Tuesday program, you can choose to start your morning off nice and easy with Movie Morning. Start your morning in a relaxed way, sit back, and this time, enjoy the action on the screen!
In the Kinepolis Jaarbeurs We're showing the brand-new movie just for you Supergirl. A perfect moment to relax with your group before the program continues.

OPEN MUSEUMS
There’s no shortage of cultural activities in our city! Are you familiar with Utrecht’s museums yet? On this day, 8 museums in Utrecht will open their doors especially for you. From unique exhibitions to surprising collections: there’s something new to discover everywhere.
Between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., you can visit Utrecht’s best museums for free or at a very reasonable price. Stroll through the galleries, let yourself be inspired, and discover how much culture our city has to offer.

CULTURAL MARKET
Curious about what Utrecht has to offer besides your studies? Then stop by the Cultural Market! Get to know Utrecht’s cultural associations and organizations and discover what they have to offer! Take part in creative workshops, enjoy surprising performances, grab a tasty treat from the food trucks, and be inspired by everything the city has to offer culturally. There’s plenty to experience all afternoon!

FESTIVAL
Once the Cultural Market is over, the Festival can begin! Enjoy live music, a lively festival atmosphere, and, of course, the best people around you. With a variety of artists, food trucks, and plenty of spots to hang out together, there’s something for everyone all evening long.
As the icing on the cake, Bilal will close out the festival with a spectacular performance. Gather your new friends, sing along, and enjoy an afternoon you won't want to miss!
CLUB THURSDAY
Earlier this week, you already got to know various student associations during UIT. On Club Thursday, you’ll have the chance to get to know them even better! Utrecht’s student clubs are opening their doors to show you what they have to offer. Meet enthusiastic members, ask all your questions, and discover the different clubs and their activities.
You don't have to become a member: just stop by, join in on some fun activities, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy a pleasant afternoon full of new encounters. You might just discover a place where you feel completely at home!
