Every year the UIT board chooses a UITband and a UITDJ! As UITDJ, you will perform your sets several times during the UIT’s parties.

After enough hours spinning in your attic room, do you want to show off your skills to the general public? Or have you already been spinning at parties and showcasing your skills during UIT? You can; become a UITDJ!

We are looking for a DJ to spin the roof off during UIT events. Would you like to be allowed to carry the name UITDJ? During the UIT, there are several parties, each with a different theme. That’s why we are also looking for a versatile DJ!

We are especially looking for someone who knows what a party is. So all styles are welcome, but experience with any of the following styles is a plus: hip-hop, house, moombahton, EDM, lounge, minimal Techno, deephouse.

Furthermore, we are looking for someone who can communicate well with the audience, and can sense what each party needs! As a DJ, you are preferably a student and living in Utrecht. In addition, you must be available during the UIT and the weekend before.

What do you get in return?

  • For a week, you will be at the center of the UIT several times. Over 4,500 students come into contact with your set! This of course creates enormous name recognition within Utrecht student life.
  • Compensation for the entire week.
  • A VIP band that gives you access to all parties and activities.

Procedure

Each DJ sends his or her self-made set. Once all the registrations and mixes are in, the UIT organization will start considering all the applications. Based on all entries, we select the DJs who are candidates for the UITDJ contest who. During the official UITDJ competition, these DJs will perform one by one in front of the audience and a panel of judges. The contest will take place in May.

An official UITDJ will be chosen from this group. DJs who have made a good impression during the contest will also be asked to play during the week, thus giving you a chance to play in front of a large audience after all.
