CREW
As a crew you sign up alone or as a couple and are active behind the scenes of one of Utrecht’s biggest events; the UIT! Behind the scenes, the crew, which consists of about 150 senior students, makes an important organizational contribution to the UIT.
Are you...
-
A hard worker?
-
Companion animal?
-
Someone with a heart for Utrecht?
Then become a crew member!
What are the duties of a crew member?
During the UIT you will be assigned to different times and positions. On average, you will have at least one shift per day (morning, afternoon or evening). You can supervise artists as a stage manager, be a venue coordinator for various program sections, manage all the behind-the-scenes logistics, run the bar and many other tasks.
What are the requirements?
The week before the UIT, you will have a mandatory crew day with all other crew members and the event managers. During this day you will receive information about the tasks and exactly what is expected of you during the UIT. In addition to the informational part, this day’s main focus will be creating a team bond between crew members. Through fun activities will ensure that you as a group are ready for the UIT and will function optimally.
Are you crew for the first time? Then you are also required to come to one of the crew meetings.
If you cannot attend the mandatory crew talk and crew day, you are required to notify by emailing to deelnemers@utrechtseintroductietijd.nl so that an appropriate solution can be found.
To become a good crew member you do not need to have certain comtentions, everything you need to know will be taught to you during the crew day. However, it is helpful if you have a sense of responsibility and are a team player.
You can only become a crew when you study in the Netherlands. It is a plus to be 18 years or older during the UIT and you can sleep in Utrecht.
In addition to the mandatory crew day and possible crew talk, a crew day is also oranized that is solely dedicated to getting to know and connecting with each other. This day will take place before the mandatory crew day.
What do I get in return?
If you are crew during the UIT, you certainly don’t do it for nothing. Through your work as a crew, you get a unique behind-the-scenes look. Not only is it interesting to experience up close the organization of such a large event, it also brings nice benefits. After all, if you don’t have a shift you are free to go wherever you want. Because as a crew you have access to all program sections, activities and parties, you don’t have to miss a single part of the UIT!
You also get a crew shirt and jersey, a bag, free meals, tokens for drinks, two crew days, crew reunions, crew drinks and, of course, lots of appreciation! Being a crew is working, having fun, drinking drinks, partying, making friends and much, much more!
