Good cause
The UIT aims not only to introduce participants to the city of Utrecht and all its aspects but also to raise awareness about various social issues. Both before and during the UIT, the organization is socially engaged in several areas.
This year’s charity is the impactful initiative, Young Impact.
Young Impact

One million young people are ready to shape the Netherlands of tomorrow. At Young Impact, we believe these young minds have the power to change the world for the better — and the energy to make real impact. One story sparks another, and sometimes all it takes is a little nudge — a spark — to ignite ambition, passion, and a movement that creates lasting change. Young Impact is that spark. That’s why we decided to meet young people where they already are: festivals. With a little dance, a burst of confetti, and some joyful music, we show festivalgoers that making impact isn’t just easy — it’s fun! Whether you’re stepping into our compliment shower for a boost to your mental health, or joining “knit with me” to chat with an elderly visitor while crafting together — the impact doesn’t stop at the festival. It travels with you, out into the world. We also see how more and more festivals, venues, and organizations are working actively to reduce their ecological footprint. Sustainability is no longer a “nice to have” — it’s a must. Visitors expect conscious choices and increasingly favor events with a social and environmental purpose. We see encouraging efforts all around us: cleaner transport, smarter energy use, waste reduction, water-saving initiatives, and more sustainable food options. This is a great movement — but let’s raise the bar even higher. Let’s make impact a celebration. Let’s make it unforgettable. Because change starts by doing.
