As a mentor, you register alone or as a couple. As a mentor duo you will guide a group of prospective students. You will be their first point of contact during the UIT and possibly also in the first weeks of the academic year. This way they can come to you with questions about studying, going out, student life, etc. and you can tell them everything Utrecht has to offer students!

We expect you to...
- takes responsibility
- Are an engaged student in Utrecht
- Showing Utrecht to students and can tell about student life
- Guiding your mentor group every day
- attend the mandatory mentor day
- Set an example during the UIT
- signs the mentoring statement
In the week before UIT, the mandatory mentor day will take place. During this day you will receive information about how you will be the best mentor and you will be informed about what to expect during UIT. Besides the informative part, there will also be a fun activity to get to know each other better.
If you cannot attend mentoring day, you are required to notify by emailing to deelnemers@utrechtseintroductietijd.nl so that an appropriate solution can be considered.
In addition, it is of course important that you have a great sense of responsibility. You are responsible for the smooth running of the first meeting of first year students. You can only become a mentor when you study in Utrecht, are 18 years or older during the UIT and you can guide your group every day during the UIT.
Before you can start working as a mentor, you and your co-mentor must come and sign your mentoring statement. This statement contains mutual agreements. In addition, it is important that you bring proof of enrollment for the college year (e.g. your college card). The signing is mandatory for both mentors. You cannot become a mentor without this statement.
What do I get in return?
You spend 4 days giving your group a great week, but of course you get something in return: activities for mentors, a mentor shirt, a bag, free lunch and dinner, good parties and lots of fun! On top of that, of course, comes a lot of appreciation from your group.
