Every year, a new UIT song is written that every UIT runner will recognize for the rest of their student life. This song is specially written for the theme of the UIT and is played several times during the UIT in addition to the UIT Band's own repertoire. So this is the time for emerging bands to reach a large audience!
Are you and your band looking for a new UIT challenge? The UIT is looking for musicians who can play the stars from the sky. There are multiple opportunities for you to share your musical talent with a great group of up-and-coming students.
The UIT Band writes the official UIT song (click here for songs from 2017, 2020, 2022 and 2023). In addition to this, you get multiple bookings during and prior to the UIT such as for example at the opening party, closing party, festival and summer party. Furthermore, we offer a reach of about 3500 UIT runners, crew and mentors! Also, your song will be played throughout the week at the association market, for example. So this is the time for emerging bands to reach a large audience!
What do you get in return?
- For a week, you will be at the center of the UIT several times. Over 3500 students will come into contact with your songs and performances! This of course creates enormous brand awareness within the Utrecht student life.
- An allowance for the entire week.
- VIP bands that allow you as a band access to all parties and activities.
Procedure
Each band submits a few songs from their repertoire to an expert panel of judges. The best bands get to participate in the official UIT Band & UIT DJ contest. This contest will take place in May.
The UIT Band will eventually write the UIT song in consultation with the UIT Team.
