Are you a student and interested in helping to create this unique experience for new students in Utrecht?
We are looking for five motivated students to start working part-time in February to organize one of the largest student events in the Netherlands.
Would you like to give more than 3,500 first-year students an unforgettable introduction to Utrecht? Then organize the Utrecht Orientation Week (UIT) 2027
What does the UIT Team do?
Together with a team, you’ll organize the Utrecht Introduction Week (UIT), the premier orientation week for new students in Utrecht. You’ll work on a major project that will help you develop new knowledge and skills, such as organizing, collaborating, and planning. Among other things, you’ll put together the UIT program, recruit sponsors, manage social media channels, and ensure that everything runs smoothly for the upcoming UIT participants.

What are the requirements?
- You are a student (MBO/HBO/WO) and have affinity with student life and the city of Utrecht
- You enjoy working together, but can also work well independently
- You keep an overview in busy situations and think in solutions
- Organizing and communicating go well with you
- You want to develop yourself and contribute to an unforgettable introduction week
- You live in Utrecht city or surroundings
- Starting in February, you'll work part-time, and then full-time during the final period

What functions are there?
Logistics | The tackler of the team
In this position, you will ensure that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly: from transportation and storage to setting up the logistics post. You ensure that the right material is in the right place at the right time. Tasks involved include:
- Setting up the logistics post
- Creating trip schedules
- Managing the storage of the UIT
- Purchasing for logistics mail
- Support the program by helping with behind-the-scenes organization
Participants | The host of the team
As a Participant employee, you will take care of the recruitment, preparation and supervision of mentors and crew. You not only arrange their schedules and scripts, but also create a close, positive atmosphere within the group. You are the point of contact for both the participants and the people who make the UIT on the floor possible. Tasks involved include:
- The recruitment of crew and mentors
- Crew and mentor schedules and scripts
- Organization of Crew Day & Mentoring Day
- Responsible for bonding among volunteers, liaison with bonding committee.
- Liaise with the various educational institutions
- Setting up and staffing the Central Station
Communication | The creative voice of the team
In this role, you’ll be responsible for UIT’s public image. You’ll manage our social media, website, and app; supervise the Media Crew; and ensure our brand identity is visible everywhere. You know exactly how to make UIT stand out—before, during, and after the event. Tasks associated with this role include:;
- Communication with the Media and Press
- Management of social media, the website, and the UIT app
- Dressing/visibility of the UIT
- Incorporating the corporate identity into the manifestations of the UIT
- Supervise the Media Crew
Sponsorship | The team's business partner
As a sponsorship associate, you will actively seek valuable collaborations and maintain contact with existing sponsors. You will arrange everything from the first meeting to the contract and invoicing. Thanks to your efforts, the UIT will not only be possible, but even more fun. Tasks include;
- Establish and maintain contact with sponsors
- Searching for new (creative) collaborations
- Contracts and invoicing of sponsors
- Close collaboration with communications
Program | The team's experience maker
In this role, you’ll shape the content of UIT 2027. You’ll come up with original concepts for program components and develop your ideas into concrete, actionable plans—from permits to scripts. You’ll ensure that content and experience come together in a logical and engaging program. Tasks associated with this role include:
- Getting started on putting together the full program for UIT 2027 and addressing the various aspects involved, such as permits, vendors, and venues
- Establish and maintain contact with suppliers and partners
- Coordination of the program components during the UIT: During the UIT, you’ll serve as the point of contact for ‘your components’ and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Do you need to have previous experience with the UIT?
No, that’s not necessary! Experience as a mentor, crew member, or event manager at UIT is a plus, but certainly not a requirement. You also don’t have to be a member of a student organization to be eligible. We mainly look for motivation and dedication.
