The UIT Team consists of a group of at least 5 motivated students who together are responsible for organizing the Utrecht Introduction Time (UIT): the introduction week for new students in Utrecht.
Starting in February, you will spend 7 months preparing for the UIT and, of course, in August, carrying out the event. Together you will ensure that thousands of first-year students have an unforgettable introduction to student life and the city of Utrecht.





What does the UIT Team do?
Together with a team you organize the Utrecht Introduction Time (UIT), the introduction week for new students in Utrecht. You will work on a large project in which you will develop new knowledge and skills, such as organizing, collaborating and planning. Among other things, you will put together the program of the UIT, recruit sponsors, manage the social media channels or make sure everything runs smoothly for the upcoming UIT runners.

What are the requirements?
- You are a student (MBO/HBO/WO) and have affinity with student life and the city of Utrecht
- You enjoy working together, but can also work well independently
- You keep an overview in busy situations and think in solutions
- Organizing and communicating go well with you
- You want to develop yourself and contribute to an unforgettable introduction week
- You live in Utrecht city or surroundings
- You will work 24 hours per week from February to June and full time (40 hours) in July and August
- In September you complete your tasks with a flexible time schedule

What functions are there?
Logistics | The tackler of the team
In this position, you will ensure that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly: from transportation and storage to setting up the logistics post. You ensure that the right material is in the right place at the right time. Tasks involved include:
- Setting up the logistics post
- Creating trip schedules
- Managing the storage of the UIT
- Purchasing for logistics mail
- Program support with individual components
Participants | The host of the team
As a Participant employee, you will take care of the recruitment, preparation and supervision of mentors and crew. You not only arrange their schedules and scripts, but also create a close, positive atmosphere within the group. You are the point of contact for both the participants and the people who make the UIT on the floor possible. Tasks involved include:
- The recruitment of crew and mentors
- Crew and mentor schedules and scripts
- Organization of Crew Day & Mentoring Day
- Responsible for bonding among volunteers, liaison with bonding committee.
- Liaise with the various educational institutions
- Setting up and staffing the Central Station
Communication | The creative voice of the team
In this role, you will be responsible for the outward appearance of the UIT. You will manage the socials, website and app, supervise the media crew and ensure that the corporate identity is visible everywhere. You know exactly how to make the UIT 2026 stand out before, during and after the event. Tasks involved include;
- Responsible for communicating with media and press
- Maintain socials and manage the website and app
- Dressing/visibility of the UIT
- Incorporating the corporate identity into the manifestations of the UIT
- Guide media crew
Sponsorship | The team's business partner
As a sponsorship associate, you will actively seek valuable collaborations and maintain contact with existing sponsors. You will arrange everything from the first meeting to the contract and invoicing. Thanks to your efforts, the UIT will not only be possible, but even more fun. Tasks include;
- Establish and maintain contact with sponsors
- Searching for new (creative) collaborations
- Contracts and invoicing of sponsors
- Close collaboration with communications
Program | The team's experience maker
In this role, you will shape the content of the UIT 2026. You will devise original interpretations for program elements and develop your ideas into concrete, executable plans, from permit to script. You will ensure that content and experience come together in a logical and attractive program. Tasks involved include:
- Concept development: conceiving and setting up program elements
- Getting to work on putting together the full program of the UIT 2026 and the various facets involved such as permits, vendors & venues.
- Establish and maintain contact with suppliers and partners
- Coordination of program parts during the UIT, during the UIT you will be the point of contact for ‘your parts’ and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Do you need to have previous experience with the UIT?
No. Experience as a mentor, crew member or event manager with the UIT is nice to have, but certainly not a requirement. Nor do you have to be a member of a student organization to be considered. We look primarily at motivation and commitment.
